Small Puller

To heat PVC pipe segments and accurately stretch out the sides for future components to be solvent welded to.

Reports to: Leadperson

Perform setup procedures for the pipe to be worked on.
- Heater setup i.e. temperature setting, placement.
- Selection of correct tooling i.e., mandrel, heating pad.
- Puller shaft limit switch setting.
- Set machine cooling time according to guidelines provided.
Place PVC pipe segment(s) onto heater.
When pipe is heated properly, place mandrel into pipe and attach to hydraulic shaft through hole.
Cool part down using wet towel.
Stretch (pull) the part out so the lip is at least 1/4″ around thepunch hole.
After the part has been pulled, remove the mandrel from shaft and pipe segment.
Make the part(s) if needed to identify the component part to be solvent welded into the body.
Accurately record completed work on production sheet as well as rejects generated onto reject sheet.
Clean up work area at the end of the shift (10-15 min max)
